Once upon a time, an age ago, a Dog was married to a Cat. They were happy while living together, but every night when Dog came home from work, Cat said she was too sick to make him dinner.

The Dog was patient with this talk for a while, but he soon got pretty tired of fixing dinner for them both after a hard day of work. After all, the Cat just stayed home all day long claiming she was sick.

One day, the Dog told his wife the Cat that he was going to work, but instead he hid in the cupboard and watched the Cat to see if she really was sick as claimed.

As soon as the silly Cat thought the Dog had left for work, she started playing games with the Kitten. They laughed and ran about because the Cat wasn’t the least bit sick.

So, the Dog jumped out of the cupboard and when the Cat saw him, she fixed a sweet in her cheek and told the Dog that she had a toothache.

The Dog got so mad at her and he started chasing her around and around the house. For that reason, Dogs have been chasing Cats ever since.
