After last year’s ‘Primus Guma Guma tombola’ in which Rwanda’s sole brewery was marking the product’s 50 years of existence, the brewery has introduced a new ‘Mutzig Gold Tombola’.
In the 3 month promotion, all Mutzig bottles will display specific golden promotion labels and neck foils on the outside of the bottle. The promotion which started on the feb 20th will see Mutzig beer fans share a cash prize of Rwf60 million.
While unveiling the promotion on Friday last week, Bralirwa’s Commercial Director, Alexander Koch revealed that cash prizes ranging from Rwf800 to Rwf1 million will be up for grabs on the final draw in May.
"There will be special crowns with "You Win, Gold Card’ printed on the inside. They will be hidden within those promotion bottles,” Koch explained.
He also added that with the special crown lucky consumers will obtain a special Mutzig Gold-card at the over 200 redemption centres.
Koch also explained that Gold-card winners will have to keep them safe until the ‘Golden Tombola’ in May, as the Mutzig Gold-card with a unique number printed on every card; it is the ticket for entering the final electronic draw.
While Bralirwa last year was marking its 50 years of existence, they changed the label of its oldest beer product, Primus, in which they also launched a nation wide consumer promotion ’50 Guma Guma’.
At the unveiling promotion, Bralirwa officials also said that the company will be carrying out the famous ‘Cameleon’ road show.
The truck will travel across the country.
Koch also explained that during the road shows, Golden prizes like watches will be won. He also revealed that the company has invested Rwf285 million in
running of the ‘Mutzig Gold Tombola’ promotion.
With the unremitting pressure from the East African Breweries Limited (EABL), Koch revealed that the company is planning to increase its presence in the region.
"We are always looking forward to increasing our already presence in the region. We are already in Uganda and Burundi but we are planning to extend if we see opportunity anywhere,” he explained.
Kock explained that the promotion is based on the heart of the Mutzig brand.
"Mutzig being Rwanda’s finest and most premium beer, la prestigieuse as we tend to say. Its rich golden colour and taste have inspired us to do this promotion.”
