"It was a great rally. The roads were good and the weather was perfect,” a thrilled Giancarlo told Times Sport in a phone dialogue. The display underlined a tremendous start to the season for the Italian-born driver, who has won the last two national championships.
Zimbabwe’s James Whyte, who is the defending FIA African Rally Champion, won the event after using 2 hours, 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Of the eleven starters, only four managed to finish the gruelling event, which stands as the opening round of the 2010 ARC contest.
