Jean Bosco Ndacyayishimira is one of the renowned D.Js. His fans and fellow artistes know him as D.J Bob. He hosts up coming local artistes in a show dabbed ‘Ishusho ku muziki nyarwanda’ at Rwanda Television every Saturday.

In that program, the top ten local hits of the week are played to promote local artistes.

He owns a music studio down town. What could his typical working day be like? Below, he tells us:

I wake up at 5a.m, and pray that the almighty blesses my day. I go for sports for about an hour and get back for a shower before I have breakfast. At about 7a.m, I set off to town from Naymirambo on a bike whose fare is Rwf 500.
By 7:45am I am at the music studio.

I start by organizing the music CDs and start the computer. I check mails and other websites to research on how other DJs do their thing. I also look out for the latest music that I will play for my weekend programme.

During the morning hours is when I also search for the music which I will post on the website www.inyarwanda.com or www.igihe.com.

I have lunch at a half past noon and have a break until 1:30p.m. I attend to different local artistes after lunch, working until 7p.m. I later move to various music studios to check on the latest music and advise these producers on how to make better quality music.

I get home at 9p.m, shower and have supper. Unless there is an abrupt program, I am in bed at 10p.m
