While hosting the annual Patients’ Day held at the hospital premises. Patients at the Muhanga-based hospital recently raised complaints over delayed services and lack of medicine in the hospital’s pharmacy.
The doctor explained that the hospital has been overwhelmed by the increasing number of patients, most of whom cannot afford the high costs on their medical prescriptions.
‘We are still facing challenges that are related to under staffing and finances,’ she said.
Bishop Smargade Mbonyinpege, who also led a mass for hundreds of patients, and add ed that the hospital needs to find ways of attaining financial independence. He called on patients to be tolerant on the situation.
The hospital is run by the Catholic Diocese of Kabgayi.
