THE National Paralympic Committee is eager to field a team at this year’s Commonwealth games due in New Delhi-India in October. The games, slated for October 3rd -14th will attract over 71 teams taking part in 17 disciplines ranging from rugby, lawn tennis, table tennis, swimming, diving, athletics, hockey, badminton, squash, netball, cycling, shooting, lawn bowls, boxing, weightlifting, wrestling and gymnastics.

The games, slated for October 3rd -14th will attract over 71 teams taking part in 17 disciplines ranging from rugby, lawn tennis, table tennis, swimming, diving, athletics, hockey, badminton, squash, netball, cycling, shooting, lawn bowls, boxing, weightlifting, wrestling and gymnastics.
According to NPC Secretary General Celestin Nizeyimana, the committee will field participants in two disciplines-athletics and power lifting.
"For now, we are comfortable competing in these two disciplines,” he said.
Rwanda was admitted into the Commonwealth federation late last year after the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) executive board approved her application.
The National Olympic Committee will also take part in the multinational, multi-sport event, which is held every four years.
