HUYE — The Police at Ngoma station are holding two men in connection with the unlawful possession of a hand grenade.

The suspects have been identified as Etienne Iyakaremye, 30 and Athanase Musoni 31, all residents of Cyarwa, a Butare town suburb.

According to Police sources, the suspects admitted to the unlawful possession of the grenade. They said that it was given to them by a demobilised soldier only identified Ernest who is still at large.

"They have been in possession of this grenade for over one year, they have been using it to rob people in this area,” said a Police source, adding that the duo had been held over such crimes before.
