Although many youth are getting taken up by the western styles of dressing and behaviour, in Africa, culture still remains an important element of society.

One thing Rwanda’s youth should understand is that, even though change occurs from time to time, major unifying characteristics will always be cultural.

The Rwandan culture has also been maintained by emphasizing "Kinyarwanda” as the local and national language. More things that culturally bind Rwandans are; the art of basketry, and the uniqueness of Rwandan music, dance and literature.
