Once upon a time there lived a very hard working man called Samo. He was so lonely that he went to the garden all day, worked and harvested food to cook for himself.

"Oh God I am tired of this lonely life and I pray that I get a wife and some children soon,” Samo would say. One day, as he left the garden very tired, he saw a wonderfully beautiful young woman carrying a pet cub and he was so amazed.

He secretly followed her to her home and tried to find out about the girl’s family. He asked a stranger what her name was and he was told the woman was called Nyakojo.

Nyakojo was adorable to her parents who found it very hard to give her away for marriage. Instead they thought their daughter was so young to get married.

Nyakojo’s parents set very strict rules for all the people who wanted to marry their daughter. They said that someone who was very gentle and humble and very rich with a lot of cattle would marry their pretty daughter.

Samo tried his level best to meet all these requirements because he was tired of being a bachelor. But he remembered that he was not wealthy and he did not have a lot of cattle.

One morning he woke up and prepared to go and ask for Nyakojo’s hand in marriage no matter what.  When he reached the girl’s home he was warmly welcomed by the family.

He told them that he loved Nyakojo so much but was not wealthy; however, Samo said he had enough to take care of her.

Nyakojo fell in love with Samo and her parents could not stop her. Since she it was the first time to see their daughter so happy, they simply said it was fine.

When the day came Samo brought the cows he could afford for dowry and took Nyakojo as his wife.

A mega traditional wedding was organized for Nyakojo and they lived happily ever after.  They had with five children.
