Rayon Sport General Assembly on Sunday evening elected local businessman Paul Muvunyi as interim president until the current season.
The Blues have been marred by financial crisis which saw players boycott training recently because they had not been their salaries for two months.
But in a bid to ease the club financial problems, they convened a General Assembly, to among other things, elect an interim executive committee to oversee the club’s affairs for the reminder of the season.
Muvunyi, who stepped down as the club president about a year ago because of unending power struggles, will be deputised by Theo Ntampaka (1st vice president) and Bernard Bienvenue as the 2nd vice president.
Olivier Gakwaya was retained as Secretary General while Philbert Mutwara was elected the Treasurer.
After the general assembly which was held behind closed doors, Secretary General Gakwaya confirmed to Times Sport that the new committee is only mandated until the end of the season.
"The new committee will serve for only four months, that’s from now until the end of the season after which fresh election will be organized to choose a permanent committee,” Gakwaya said.
