Men can often think they are dangerous, but throughout nature it is the female species that is to be feared.

I was thinking of the most dangerous females in nature and their human parallels. One thing often said is "if the world was ruled by women, then it would be more peaceful.”

Then I point to Golda Maier, Indira Gandhi, Corazon Aquino, all women leaders who waged war.

The most dangerous women you can end up with are the following:

Praying Mantis – imagine the poor male praying mantis, meeting a lady that will seduce you and kill you when it’s over. No male mantis has ever thought to run for its life, they all succumb.

The advice I would give a male mantis is "take it easy, don’t jump into relationships, and make sure she’s the one before you commit yourself to death.”

Lioness – they are deadly because they really pamper their men, they hunt for them, look after the kids while he just lies around.

You might think this is submissive but they want to keep him just in case another male comes to attack their children. If the lion is old and weak, the lioness can kill the male to entice a younger more virile lion.

The advice I give lions is "don’t get too comfortable, always remain on your toes and help around the house when you can.”

Hyenas – probably the most dominant female among mammals, they rule the pack with a total iron fist.

All males apart from one is expected to be celibate, she can kill any male who tries to breed with the females in her pack.

She leads the hunt and gets the biggest share, then the other females and males come last. Advice to a male hyena "it’s like being in the army, as long as you keep your head down and follow orders you’ll be okay.”

Black Widow spider – the deadliest of them all, will kill and devour her partner/prey whatever the outcome. Most men have to take a woman out for dinner first, but the Black widow prefers dinner after.

It might be the most expensive date in nature, costing you your life. I have no advice for male Widow spiders, just enjoy life while you can and remember the good times.

Whiptail Lizard – this is species decided to do away with males all together, they ate all the males into extinction. One wonders how they produce and that is the scary bit.

The reproduce parthenogenically without the need for sperm or males but they produce clones without genetic variation.

This is the worst nightmare for the male species, to be written off as useless and eradicated altogether.
