The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo, has urged Rwandans to adopt the Chinese culture of saving for the future.
The minister made the call yesterday while addressing guests who had turned up to celebrate the Chinese Food Festival, a function that was held at the Chinese embassy.
Mushikiwabo said that Chinese tradition is very rich that it has a lot to teach the world.
"The culture of saving is embedded in the Chinese tradition. I’m impressed by the fact that when Chinese eat food on this festival, they always reserve a portion for tomorrow. Rwandans need to learn from this tradition,” said Mushikiwabo.
She also commended the existing cooperation between Rwanda and China saying that it has grown to stronger heights and continues.
"There’s a lot to attest to the value of our countries’ relationship in terms of development,” said Mushikiwabo.
The food festival which is also called the spring festival is held to mark the Chinese New Year which will start on February 14.
