The New Times is taking part in 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, which began on November 25. The global campaign, which runs until December 10, is themed "UNITE! Activism to End Violence Against Women and Girls."

During this time, we will look at various situations in which women and girls may be victims of gendered misconceptions and imbalances. In this segment, we look at the working conditions of women in male-dominated fields, the progress made over the years, and the remaining challenges to resolve.
