Amavubi stars head coach and Captain; Josip Kuze and Ismail ‘Kodo’ Nshutinamagara will vote for Brazil and AC Milan play maker Ricardo Kaka for the 2007 Fifa World Player of the Year.

Kaka, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi are in the race for the most prestigious individual soccer award.

Speaking to Times Sport, Kuze and Kodo said that Kaka deserves the award after helping AC Milan win last season’s European Champions League.

"I like Kaka and his achievements for Milan last season were excellent. His goal haul in last year’s Uefa Champions league made him the competition’s top scorer (10) and went a long way in helping his side to claim the continent’s top trophy”, Kuze said, adding that Ronaldo and Messi will be hot contestants next year.

Nshutinamagara said, "Kaka is a powerful and often an unstoppable player with great skill, speed and elegance and although Ronaldo may be having the same qualities, Kaka will beat him off this award,” Nshutinamagara said.

Rwanda is among the 204 Fifa member countries that will vote for the 2007 Fifa World Player of the Year.

Italian and Real Madrid star Fabio Cannavaro won the best player of the year accolade last year, beating then Arsenal’s Thierry Henry to second place.

This year’s winner will be announced at the Fifa World Player Gala in Zurich on Dec 17.
France midfielder Zinedine Zidane and Brazilian striker Ronaldo are both three-time winners, while Ronaldinho has won it twice.
