The Private Sector Federation (PSF) has awarded 30 certificates to participants from 16 different financial institutions that were under going 4-day training in records management.

The umbrella arm of the business community says that the skills gained in financial records management are an important resource in business organizations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on Friday, Agustave Nkurunziza, the director of projects at PSF urged participants to impart the knowledge and skills of managing records they have from the training through out their life styles.

"I wish to remind all course participants that our society today lives in the age of information in which creation, storage organisation and use of information is essential to many of the processes which sustain modern society and its institutions,” Nkurunziza said.

He added that further trainings will not only center on the private sector but also public institutions.

The training was facilitated by Professor Justus Wamukoya from Moi University.

The training was also designed to enable institutions make informed decisions, keep track on policy changes, support continuity and consistency as well as provide evidence of business transactions.
