Mako Nikoshwa,, the self proclaimed Umushumba”, (cattle keeper) of the popular song Ndi Umushumba has revealed that he is working on a new album Izuba Rirashe. Mako Nikoshwa, whose hit album, “Agaseko” earned him popularity in Rwanda and Uganda, said his album will be launched this year. Despite the stiff competition, Mako Nikoshwa said he was not competing with any artist, but instead wanted to improve.

Despite the stiff competition, Mako Nikoshwa said he was not competing with any artist, but instead wanted to improve.
"I want people to know that I am not competing. I want to produce something better than the rest of my other songs. I am not involved in any fight with any artist,” Nikoshwa said.
In a related development, Nikoshwa has come up with a live concert initiative dubbed "Mako Nikoshwa Unplugged”, which has been scheduled for the last Saturday of the month at Black and White joint in Nyamata.
"The project (Mako Nikoshwa Unplugged) is aimed at promoting the culture of live music performances in Rwanda, and to give platform to upcoming artists to develop their talent.
He said there is need for artists to thoroughly work on their pieces before releasing their albums.
