A police constable is admitted at the Central Hospital of Kigali (CHK) in critical condition after an attempt on his life on Tuesday morning by unknown assailants. Eric Mulisa was attacked on Tuesday at about 2:00am by unidentified thugs in his home in Rwampala cell, Kigarama sector in Kicukiro district.

Eric Mulisa was attacked on Tuesday at about 2:00am by unidentified thugs in his home in Rwampala cell, Kigarama sector in Kicukiro district.
They poured petrol on him before setting him ablaze. Police spokesperson, Eric Kayiranga confirmed the incident when contacted by The New Times.
"There was an attempt on Mulisa’s life in his home and he is currently under intensive care at CHK,” Kayiranga said.
Mulisa was saved by the neighbours who came to his rescue only to find the killers had disappeared.
Police have not yet arrested any person in connection with the attempted murder.
"We are now carrying out investigations but we are yet to arrest anyone,” Kayiranga said.
"Currently we don’t know why these unknown people attempted to kill him but investigations are still ongoing,” he said.
