AFTER failing to win a trophy last season, National University of Rwanda (UNR) is looking to beef up their volleyball squad with two new signings.
Olivier Ntaganzwa and Olivier Mutuyimana, who are offensive (attacking) players, have been undergoing trials at the varsity side and could seal their moves soon.
Ntaganzwa has been featuring for Groupe Scolaire of Butare while Mutuyimana played for Karubanda last season.
Reports indicate that the club has enticed the pair to join the team by offering to give them scholarships at the university.
UNR are also said to be tempting Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC)’s top player Eric Nsabimana to join the club as a coach player.
The 27-year-old, who also plays for the national team, made his name as a player at the varsity side before joining KVC two seasons ago.
"With the youngsters we have at the club, we need some one with vast experience to lead them and he (Nsabimana) fits that billing,” UNR head coach Fidele Nyirimana said.
