Editor,
I am pleased the way Rwanda is getting thumbs-up from different internationally renowned personalities like the World Bank President over her advancement in ICT usage.
I read the article in The New Times of yesterday where World Bank President Robert Zoellick hailed Rwandan government for its continued efforts towards the development of ICT in Rwanda saying that the country has emerged as continental model in using technologies for development.
As Rwandans, we should not sit back and relax after what we have achieved; this has to instead propel us into achieving more in as far as ICT is concern because there is still room for getting better that what we are.
We should therefore support our government’s efforts, championed by President Paul Kagame in making Rwanda an ICT model country not only in the region but also the entire continent.
For instance we should take serious what the President said at the just-concluded AU Summit where in his keynote address, he said that there’s need to harness the potential of ICTs to generate greater prosperity for the African continent.
Let the entire populace work towards taking our country to greater heights regarding ICT, especially now that our government is working vigorously to rollout the necessary infrastructure in all parts of the country.
