GICUMBI – Students’ turn up for first term has been low at various secondary schools in Gicumbi district.

At Byumba’s GS de La Salle and GS APAPEB High schools majority of students had not reported by Wednesday.
The headmaster of GS de La Salle Balthazar Nsengiyumva, attributed the delay on fees.

"Out of 581 students expected, only 241 students have started classes because majority others are still clearing their school fees in the local banks,” said Nsengiyumva.

At GS APABEB High School, majority students could be seen crowded at the school administration block to clear their fees.

"About 400 out of 950 students expected have so far reported at the school,” said the headmaster of GS APAPEB Jean d’Amour Uwilingiyimana.
