KIMIHURURA- Members of both Chambers of Parliament will return from a two-month holiday this Friday. Top on their agenda will be to summon several Cabinet Ministers to explain some new government policies.

According to the programme, three ministers are expected to appear before the Upper House in the first week.

They include the Minister of Trade and Commerce Monique Nsanzabaganwa, who is likely to be questioned on how individuals who bought government parastatals are honouring agreements signed with the Government.

The Minister of Internal Security Musa Fazil is also expected in the Senate to answer questions regarding ‘problems within the National Police,’ as stated in the Senatorial weekly programme.

Stanislas Kamanzi, the Minister of Environment will officially report on the outcome of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (UNCCC) that was held in Copenhagen, Denmark late last year.

Kamanzi last appeared before the Senate while presenting Rwanda’s position on the global conference.

In a related development, the Senate is expected to review a number of reports compiled by standing committees. One of those include; a report on the controversial PS-Imberakuri political party.

According to the Chairman of the Senatorial Standing Committee on Governance and Politics, Senator Joseph Karemera, the date for the presentation of the report is yet to be announced.

"We finished compiling the report; we are waiting for the date to be set so that we present our findings,” said Karemera.

The committee had summoned Bernard Ntaganda, PS Imberakuri leader, to explain in detail his alleged statements in the media which the Senate considered promote divisive politics.
