The UN recently made a report that the prevalence rate of HIV/Aids disease estimated worldwide has drastically dropped.

The report goes on to show that the number of people infected with HIV/Aids worldwide has gone down from nearly 40 million to 33.2 million people from the year of 2005 to date at a rate of 3 percent.

The report suggests that better access to data and an actual decrease in the number of new infections are the two major reasons for the downward movement of the graph.

It was acknowledged that the rate of the pandemic’s new infection cases could have indeed decreased.

However, the report stresses that the statistical evidence shows the scourge is creeping back in countries that have become less careful.

It is for Rwandans to make a choice of refusing to sit back and relax on the fight against HIV/Aids when people are still dying. People should still keep it in their minds that HIV/Aids is still rampant however much the report claims its decline globally.

Africa is still the hardest hit continent, with people infected with HIV.
