It was reported yesterday that the over 3,000 classrooms for the Nine-Year Basic Education (9-YBE) program have been completed. This was made possible by the manner in which the Rwandan people responded to the call. Ordinary citizens as well as corporate organizations contributed tremendously and this must be commended. Indeed they displayed true patriotism by taking up the challenge and meeting the target on time.

Ordinary citizens as well as corporate organizations contributed tremendously and this must be commended. Indeed they displayed true patriotism by taking up the challenge and meeting the target on time.
The determination that was witnessed in the course of the construction of the classrooms, and the donations made by individuals and corporate organizations was historical.
It was truly a national project that we can say brought out the best in us as Rwandans. It was a demonstration that, with determination and a unity of purpose, a lot can be achieved as a country and a people.
The mobilization, and fundraising activities carried out by the Ministry of Education, and government at large, were truly inspirational and visionary. Indeed this is the spirit that should characterise all Rwandans in whatever they choose to do for the development of the country.
Most institutions of learning in the country, are witnessing increased enrolment of students. This means that more infrastructure is necessary. It is evident that collective efforts can lead to the realization of otherwise uphill tasks.
The new classrooms are indeed a gateway to new and better possibilities.
