RWAMAGANA – At least 15 entrepreneurs drawn from all districts in the Eastern Province, on Thursday started 5-day training in project writing and financial management organized by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
According to Eusebe Muhikira, from, the aim is to equip participants with basic knowledge to enable them stay in business.
"We want to help people know how to make project plans that can convince the banks to give them loans,” he said. "Unless your project is viable, you are likely not to get a bank loan.”
Augustine Mutabazi, a trader in agricultural products in Rwamagana, said that they expect to be more competitive after the training.
"I started doing business in 1993 and used to move from one place to another. Now I can see a bright future,” he said.
Prisca Uwera, a business woman from Kayonza dealing in groceries said the training was timely, since most of them could not write a single project on their own.
"After here we shall be able to write projects to present to financial institutions on our own and handle our accounts,” she said.
