Morocco was the only African country to finish above Rwanda.
Jack Boyer praised his team for managing to cut it out with the professional riders that took part in the competition before tipping Abraham Ruhumuriza, Nicodem Habiyambere and Rafiki Uwimana for top displays in Cameroon.
"I’m proud of the lads. They put in a spirited fight especially during the hilly terrains. I now expect the likes of Ruhumuriza, Uwimana and Habiyambere to even perform better in Cameroon,” Boyer told Times Sport.
The team is due to start training on Monday in Musanze, and will leave for Cameroon on February 13.
