As one of the strongest economies in the world, and with sizable clout, China is the right country to mediate in the DR Congo. As an impartial intermediary, China has the opportunity to use its influence to further foster the peace process in Eastern Congo.

That is why I was pleased by the Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign in Charge of Africa’s assertion China would support the peace process in DR Congo. With their assistance, I believe that process will be further accelerated.
