KARONGI – Students, who are sponsored by the Fund for support of Genocide Survivors (FARG), have criticised the slow registration process at Karongi district headquarters which has led them to camp at the district offices. Most of the students could not hide their frustration towards what they referred to as “sluggish” working procedures in processing their applications.

Most of the students could not hide their frustration towards what they referred to as "sluggish” working procedures in processing their applications.
"We have been here for three days and we have not yet been registered. Some of us have no relatives nearby and we are forced to seek shelter from strangers,” Dieudonné Niyomukiza, a 3rd year engineering student at National University of Rwanda said.
He partly blamed the delay on the processing to the large number of applicants which had overwhelmed those processing the applications.
Sources at the district however attributed the delays to breakdown of the computers that were being used in the exercise.
