CAMERWA DG arrested

KIGALI - The Director General of The Rwanda Drug, Consumables and Equipment Central Procurement Agency (CAMERWA), Zephyr Mutanguha, has been arrested over alleged mismanagement of the institution’s property. According to police spokesman, Eric Kayiranga, Mutanguha was arrested on Saturday.

KIGALI - The Director General of The Rwanda Drug, Consumables and Equipment Central Procurement Agency (CAMERWA), Zephyr Mutanguha, has been arrested over alleged mismanagement of the institution’s property.

According to police spokesman, Eric Kayiranga, Mutanguha was arrested on Saturday. "The allegations are related to the mismanagement of the institutions property” said Kayiranga in a phone interview with The New Times.

He added that; "he is going to answer those charges before a competent authority…it is a public institution.”

According to Kayiranga, investigations into the case are still ongoing and that Mutanguha will be produced in court "within the period provided by the law.”

Mutanguha has been at the helm of CAMERWA since 2006, when he took over from Gustave Nkurunziza.
