Why is Malawi releasing genocide fugitives?
Editor, I was saddened to read the news that a Genocide fugitive recently arrested in Malawi, Charles Bandora, has been released under unclear circumstances. I truly don’t understand why the Malawian justice system would release this man who is an ex- senior official of the former ruling party in Rwanda, MRND.

Editor,
I was saddened to read the news that a Genocide fugitive recently arrested in Malawi, Charles Bandora, has been released under unclear circumstances. I truly don’t understand why the Malawian justice system would release this man who is an ex- senior official of the former ruling party in Rwanda, MRND.
Is it because they lacked evidence or what it because of some shady deals that he made? It wouldn’t be the first time that something like that happened.
Remember Felicien Kabuga and the Kenyan authorities? Despite a huge bounty on his head, he has evaded justice. I’m hopeful that the Malawian authorities have a good excuse for this outrage.
