Drug dealers nabbed

KARONGI – Three drug dealers were on Thursday caught transporting over 1500 rolls of marijuana with a street value of over Rwf150,000. Claude Ndungutse, Marcel Birushyabagabo and Assumani Niyikiza were nabbed in a joint operation conducted by Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and the police in the districts of Rutsiro and Karongi. They are currently detained at Bwishyura Police station in Karongi district.

KARONGI – Three drug dealers were on Thursday caught transporting over 1500 rolls of marijuana with a street value of over Rwf150,000.

Claude Ndungutse, Marcel Birushyabagabo and Assumani Niyikiza were nabbed in a joint operation conducted by Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and the police in the districts of Rutsiro and Karongi. They are currently detained at Bwishyura Police station in Karongi district.

According to police, Ndungutse was nabbed in Rutsiro by RRA officials. The suspect upon being arrested named his two other accomplices who were later rounded off in Rubengera Sector, Karongi district.

Police say that Ndungutse had previously served a 3 year jail term for a similar offence. The three are set to appear before court on Monday next week for prosecution.
