GISELE Umumararungu and Olivier Havukimana will be Rwanda’s only entrants at this year’s Africa Junior Tennis Championship in Nigeria.

The pair finished fourth in the just concluded ITF East African Junior Championship held at Parklands Sports Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

Umumararungu lost to Ethiopia’s Tamru Dinkinesh 6-4, 6-4 while Havukimana also fell to Libya’s Elhouni Muhanad in the semi-finals.

The top five players in the Under-16 and U-14 categories secured automatic slots in the Nigeria event slated for April.

Other countries expected to field players at the competition include Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco and Libya.
