SC KIYOVU thrashed AS Kigali 3-1 last evening to register their fifth win of the season at Nyamirambo’s Regional stadium. SC Kiyovu’s goals were scored by Papy Nkunda, Bonaventure Hategekimana and Tumaine Ntamuhanga.
Godfrey Kakembo scored AS Kigali’s consolation on the 7th minute.
In another match played yesterday, Police failed to bridge the gap with the top two clubs after being held to a 1-1 draw by Electrogaz.
Police’s top scorer Roger Tchouassi continued his fine scoring form when he put his side ahead but Jimmy Mbaraga equalized for Electrogaz shortly after.
For Tchouassi, it was his seventh goal of the season and keeps him at the helm of the league top scorer’s chart.
Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s SC Kiyovu remained in sixth place with 16 points but cut down their point deficit with fifth placed Rayon Sport to one. Police are now two points adrift of league leaders APR and Etincelles, who are tied on 20 points.
Electrogaz have 12 points while AS Kigali, who have managed six points from ten games are still locked in the relegation zone.
