GATSIBO - A 46-year-old man, Silvestre Munyarugarama, a resident of Kabarore sector, who allegedly attempted to kill his sister in law has been detained at Gatsibo Police Post.

Speaking to  The New Times, from the police, the suspect admitted he had planned to kill, Anastasie Nsezere, his sister in-law. 

‘My conscious was driving me to kill her. I borrowed a machete from my brother Sibomana and went to hack her where she was cooking in the kitchen but on my way, I exercised self restraint’ he said. 

Munyarugarama said that he wanted to kill Nsezere because he suspected her to be bewitching his children. 

‘I lost three children to witchcraft and I suspected her (Nsezere) to be behind the death of my children.’
