Dismissal of corrupt and undisciplined police officers is timely
Editor, I’m of the view that the dismissal of the police officers, who have left the force, is something that should have been done yesterday. Because they are the custodians of the law, we cannot stomach having a police force that isn’t totally without reproach.

Editor,
I’m of the view that the dismissal of the police officers, who have left the force, is something that should have been done yesterday. Because they are the custodians of the law, we cannot stomach having a police force that isn’t totally without reproach.
In fact, just the whiff of impropriety should be enough to get a police officer dismissed. Certainly, some officers will fall through the cracks but I’m of the opinion that it’s better that the police force is known as a ‘no-nonsense’ entity that Rwandans can trust without hesitation.
I’m sure that this opinion isn’t shared by many people, and I respect their opinions. I’m sure that what I have suggested isn’t even legal but it’s well intentioned.
