ULK staff hold 2-day retreat

Independent University of Kigali (ULK) has organized a two-day workshop to welcome newly recruited staff and also update existing ones on new principles regarding the University.

Independent University of Kigali (ULK) has organized a two-day workshop to welcome newly recruited staff and also update existing ones on new principles regarding the University.

While officially opening the workshop, the Rector of ULK, Dr. Prof. Munyanfura Alphonse Ngagi, said that it was the custom of the university to come together as staff before the academic year begins and share ideas on the work ahead as they lay more strategies on improving services they provide.

The founder of ULK Prof. Rwigamba Balinda, called upon the staff to abide by the basic values of the university notably, integrity, humility, determination and excellence.

Varsity elites held discussions and exchanged ideas on the best ways to deliver knowledge and making the university more competitive.

ULK has recruited about 27 new lecturers both Kigali and Gisenyi campuses, among them 5 Doctorate holders. This has increased the total number of staff to near 300 in both campuses.

ULK, has four faculties; the faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, Law, Social Sciences and the faculty of Science and Technology.

Since its inception, it has graduated over 7,500 students.
