To be physically fit is every child’s pride; children who are used to doing sports are rarely disturbed by simple diseases like flu.

Sports or a physical exercise does not only build our body strength, but also protects us from diseases which easily affect our bones.

Today in our interview we have a young golfer. We found her on the golf course participating in a golf tournament which was organized by Macmillan at Golf Club Nyarutarama. She is going to tell us why she chooses golf and not any other sport.

Chaka: Little girl could you kindly give me time to talk to you please?

Teta: No I can’t. My teachers will first have to give me permission (She whispers).

Chaka: Please…the teachers have already given you the permission that is why I have been talking to your other friends.

Teta: Ok, now we can talk.

Chaka: Thank you, can you now tell me your name?

Teta: My name is Teta Gakuba.

Chaka: Teta how old are you?

Teta: I am 5 years old.

Chaka: When did you start playing golf?

Teta: I ……think one week ago.

Chaka: How have you found golf so far?

Teta: It is an interesting game.

Chaka: How do you feel about playing it?

Teta: I feel happy.

Chaka: Any thing good about playing golf?

Teta: Yah... I have got a number of friends since I started playing it.

Chaka: Can you mention at least one?

Teta: Thierry

Chaka: Any message to children who don’t like golf?

Teta: Any message……..! I don’t have any message.

Comment:

If given a chance to meet Teta in person, you would get to know well enough what I am telling you. Teta is not just a sports girl but a fully empowered child.

Dear parents to Teta, Teta is not just a child before you, she is also a great God given treasure in your hands. By the grace of God, do all your best to help her become the person of her dreams. Best wishes from the Children’s Times Team.
