RWANDA has finally been admitted into the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). The federation, whose head quarters are situated in London, United Kingdom confirmed Rwanda’s entry into the 71-nation group last week.

The federation, whose head quarters are situated in London, United Kingdom confirmed Rwanda’s entry into the 71-nation group last week.
The Rwanda Olympic Committee’s (RNOC) Executive Director Thierry Ntwali told Times Sport yesterday that CGF executive board approved Rwanda’s application which will be subjected to formal ratification by the general assembly days before the 2010 Commonwealth Games slated for October 3-14 in Pune, India.
"Following our admission, we have been urged to put together a team to take part in the Games,” Ntwali said.
Some of the sporting disciplines that Rwanda could contest in include swimming, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Netball, Rugby 7s, Table Tennis and Weightlifting.
This will be the first time India has hosted the Games and only the second time the event has been held in Asia.
