RWANDA’S light welter (64kg) pugilist Pascal Sibomana is ready to scale heights in Sunday’s CNLS sponsored national boxing championship at Amahoro indoor stadium.
Sibomana who will be representing Remera boxing club told Times Sport yesterday that his preparations are going well.
"Everything is going according to plan and I’m certain to make a mark at the championship,” the 26-year-old said.
The former No-Limit boxer wants to use this tournament to assess his level ahead of the Zone 3 championship scheduled for Nairobi, Kenya in March.
He is also one of Rwanda’s boxers looking for qualification minimums to compete in the 2012 London Games.
The one-day tournament at Amahoro Indoor Stadium will attract pugilists from six clubs-Rafiki, Inkuba, Kimisagara, ETM, Musanze and reigning champions Remera.
The day’s top performers will go on to represent the country at this year’s World Youth Boxing Championship in Azerbaijan.
