PUGILISTS have two more days to prepare for the much anticipated national boxing championship after reports that the event has been rescheduled to Sunday.
The meet, initially set for Friday, will be held at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
According to Rwanda Amateur Boxing Association (Raba) technical director Gashuji Kananura, weigh-ins and the draws will be held moments before the boxing showdown.
"We shall do the weigh-ins and draws just before the championship,” he said.
The one-day event, which is expected to merge boxers from five clubs; Inkuba, Kimisagara, ETM, Musanze and reigning champions Remera, is sponsored by National AIDS Control Commission (CNLS).
Boxers need not to be reminded of the magnitude of the competition since it will be a selection ground for the national team that will go on to compete in the 2010 World Youth Boxing Championship set for Azerbaijan in April.
