The commercial motorcyclists’ organization, ASSETAMORWA, has concluded the formation of unions in every district in order to ensure more returns and benefits for its members.

Dieudonne Nteziyaremye, the president of association, said that after a study of the group’s achievements, it was found that their yields were not sufficient and resolved to form many cooperatives in the country.

Nteziyaremye also revealed that the exercise of electing union leaders in every district was ongoing.

The unions will come together to form a federation to push for a bigger voice at the national level.

Besides the change of format, Nteziyaremye revealed that discussions are underway to introduce tracking devices that will be placed on every motorbike to help reduce theft.
"It is in the pipeline but we are still discussing the issue of tracking devices,” he said.
