The improving ties between Rwanda and France will not stop Paris-based, anti-genocide activists,  Collectif des Parties Civiles pour le Rwanda (CPCR), from pushing the French justice system to bring all the masterminds of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi currently living in France to book.

Speaking to The New Times, the organisation’s president Alain Gauthier noted that "Diplomacy seems to be going very fast between France and Rwanda since Bernard Kouchner was in Kigali,” but reiterated his group’s commitment to fulfill their cause.

"At CPCR, we will continue to push the judiciary to ensure that complaints are investigated,” Gauthier said. "We will continue to prepare new complaints if we have new evidence on alleged genocide perpetrators.”

Last week, the French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner was in Kigali in a visit that signaled improved ties between the two countries.
