MUSANZE — A seventy- year old man and his daughter died instantly and five family members sustained severe injuries after a grenade blast at their house while having super.

This latest incidence comes days after a similar grenade blast killed four people and injured six others in Rusizi in the western Rwanda.

The dead were identified as Nephtali Ntamagezo 70 and Emerance Mukamanzi.

 The injured were admitted at Ruhengeri hospital in critical condition. They include Nyiraribagiza Rahabu, 53, Nisingizwe 15, Mahirwe 5, Muhoza 13 and Nyanvura 10 all residents of Muko sector.

The killer instrument was described as an old stick-hand grenade thought to have been kept under ground for along time.

According to acting Regional Police Commander, Danny Ndayambaje, suspects of last week incidence and their motive are yet to be established.

However, area residents suspected evil wishers due to family wrangles.

Police urged residents to remain cautious and vigilant especially when carrying out night patrols.

They were also asked to identify and report any strange people who may be suspected of crime.
