President Paul Kagame yesterday held discussions with a delegation of Dutch Parliamentarians who are a two-day visit in the country.

The meeting held at Urugwiro Village, discussed a wide range of issues that included bilateral relations between the two countries and aid support.

The nine-member multiparty delegation is led by Henk Jan Ormel, the Chairman of the Dutch Parliament Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.

"We are here on a fact-finding mission and I am sure that the information we will get from here will contribute largely to the political debates we will have on aid support,” said Jan Ormel.

The Dutch legislators also discussed about the new laws that Rwanda has put in place, including the law on Genocide and Genocide revisionism.

Foreign Affairs Minister Louise Mushikiwabo, assured the Dutch legislators that the Rwandan government will never pass a law that will infringe on the human rights of any Rwandan.

"They were impressed by our explanations on these laws and we agreed to create a platform since we share the same concerns, and they invited Rwandan leaders to visit Holland as we continue strengthening our cooperation,” said Mushikiwabo.

"From their own words, they said they are happy with the situation regarding the issues of regional stability, especially relations with DR Congo.”
