A group of young human rights activists currently attending a nine day conference in Kigali are on a tour of several parts of the country since Tuesday taking part in communal work.

The activists have toured the southern province where they took part in the building of houses for vulnerable people in Muhororo cell, Rusatira sector of Huye District.

The activists also visited the National University of Rwanda where, Prof Omara Otunnu the conference chair held discussions with students.

The young human rights activists also visited, Nyamagabe Districts and again took part in building schools and planting trees. On Thursday, the activists went to the Millennium Villages Project in Bugera District.

Speaking to The New Times, Peter Karemera, a commissioner in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), commended the job done by the young activists.  

"They have done a recommendable job today, the work that was supposed to take 30 days was done in only one day” said Karemera.
