24-year-old Diane Nkusi Mutoni is one of the upcoming gospel artists in Rwanda.

Growing up in Congo DRC, she always wanted to become a great musician, but gospel music was not her dream at the time. She started singing at a tender age of seven, from the Sunday school choir.

"I loved music and my dream was to become a great artist,” Mutoni said. "When I grew up, I used to mime and analyze songs from world renowned artists, but had never performed in public places.”

"Later, I realized that my call was to be a gospel singer, not circular.”

Mutoni, is an Anglican. She says that she prayed to God, who gave her the style of music to produce (salsa and Latino).

She came to fame in March last year, when she released "Igitambo”. The song is in zouk style, and it’s regularly featured on the television and local FM stations.

Mutoni is set to launch her debut album "Ndaguhaye icubahiro”, literally translated to mean, "I give you honour.” The album will be launched at Kigali Serena, this year (date not yet confirmed).

Through singing, Mutoni has become one of the most recognisable gospel artists on Rwanda’s entertainment scene.

This gorgeous lady sees herself as a simple lady, who loves worshiping God, working, and adventuring.

Mutoni is a student at Kigali Independent University, and hopes to develop her music career, and sensitize the youth to know God—the creator.
