WHILE Mukura may be struggling to find their feet in the national football league, they are in no mood to stomach indisciplined players. Early this week, the Huye-based club kicked out three first team players on grounds of indiscipline.

The club, which belongs to the big four group alongside APR, Atraco and Rayon Sport this week parted ways with Jeff Otolito (midfielder) and the striking pair of Karim Bangamwabo and Moussa Mbaye.

According to club coach Ali Bizimana, Mukura could not take it any more with the players’ insolence.

"It was time to take action against these players and we hope this will serve as a warning to the rest,” he said before adding, "The players were constantly missing training and breaking many other club rules and regulations.”

Bizimana’s patience reached a point of no return when the trio went AWOL (Away without Leave) just days before Saturday’s 2-1 win over Electrogaz.

It is said that the players had traveled to their native home (Democratic Republic of Congo).

Bizimana has also handed last warnings to Billy Umude, Aziz Nshakumutima and centre back Hussein Sibomana who was part of Eric Nshimiyimana’s pre-selected squad for last year’s Orange/Cecafa championship staged in Kenya.

Off the field, Mukura is also enduring one of their worst years as they struggle with bankruptcy.

Some reports indicate that players have run impatient after going unpaid for the last few months.

Mukura has not had the best of starts in the league. The club, which reached last year’s MTN Peace Cup final, has managed two wins in seven games leaving the club in 10th spot with six points.

Etincelles lead the table standings with 19 points while APR and Atraco are level in second place with 16 points, although the former boasts of a superior goal difference.
