I was among the throng that demonstrated and cheered the closure of the French Mission in Rwanda those years back. I did so because I believed that we weren’t being treated like equals in the international forum.

However, with the change of the French administration and solving of various issues, I’ll be the first to welcome the détente.

That’s why I’m happy that the French Foreign Minister is here. It’s my wish that we can get to the bottom of the various issues that have scarred our relations like the Genocide fugitives living in France. An extradition or two would certainly warm my heart.
