MUSANZE – Iddi Abdal Aziz Baziruwiha, who until yesterday was a commissioner with the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC) has been sacked as the president of Muhoza sector Advisory Council following accusations of taking bribes.

The district advisory council yesterday summoned Baziruwiha to explain the accusations that he took a bribe of Rwf20,000, to help a resident get appointed as the cell executive secretary in Muhoza sector.

He was last week arrested and detained by Police.
He was later reportedly released as investigations were on going.

The president of the district advisory council Alex Ruberwa said the resolution to relieve him of his duties was based on the fact the accused admitted to taking the bribe and sought for forgiveness in a previous meeting held last week.
