Christians donate to genocide survivors

Christians of Remera Healing Centre on Sunday donated food items valued at Rwf 500,000 to Genocide survivors living in Niboyi sector in Kicukiro District.

The items included rice, maize flour, beans and sugar.
Speaking to over 100 survivors, Emmanuel Muhirwa, a pastor at Remera Healing Centre delivered a message of love and urged them to always obey God and strive for a better life.

Cell leaders questioned

Cell leaders in Rwimiyaga Sector in Nyagatare District are being questioned over missing food items donated by government to the sector’s needy residents
George Kabayija, the Sector Executive Secretary said that they were still carrying out investigations.

Man killed over a Rwf1000 debt

The police in Huye District are hunting for Nkurunziza, a man who allegedly beat one Ntakirutimana to death.
According to residents, the deceased was beaten a Rwf1000 debt.

It is said that the deceased came to demand his money he had lent to the suspect. The feud developed into a fight and Nkurunziza hit the deceased on the head with a hoe.

Woman quits witchcraft

A woman in Burogota village in Nyagatare district has quit witchcraft and given her life to Jesus Christ.  

Alphonsine Isamaza said recently during her confession that she has been involved in witchcraft for 9 years and added that she had not been at peace ever since she began practicing it.

Two men arrested for stealing 20 cows

Two men in Ruhango district are in police custody for allegedly stealing 20 cows from Nyagatare district.
Alex Kayijuba and John Harerimana were arrested after the driver of a lorry they hired reported them to the police.
However, the two suspects deny the allegations saying that they bought the cows.

Mayor urges residents on birth control

The Mayor of Gatsibo District, Damascene Rurangwa, has called upon residents to embrace family planning methods.

Rurangwa made remarks during a meeting with the residents who were affected by heavy rains which destroyed their plantations and had sought for help from the district.The Mayor added that for the residents to fight poverty, they should first consider having a family they can cater for.
