Keep hitting the FDLR camps

Editor, I’m pleased that the Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday launched ‘Operation Amani Leo’ (Peace Today) after annourncing the end of Operation Kimia II that was being mounted alongside MONUC against militia of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, FDLR. While some in the western media and human rights organisations believe that not attacking those rebels will somehow bring about peace in the DRC, I’m of the view that totally eliminating the rebel groups that are terrorising the people in Eastern Congo is the solution to the insecurity problem.

Editor,

I’m pleased that the Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday launched ‘Operation Amani Leo’ (Peace Today) after annourncing the end of Operation Kimia II that was being mounted alongside MONUC against militia of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, FDLR.

While some in the western media and human rights organisations believe that not attacking those rebels will somehow bring about peace in the DRC, I’m of the view that totally eliminating the rebel groups that are terrorising the people in Eastern Congo is the solution to the insecurity problem.

So, all I can say to the Congolese army is "courage” and "good luck”.
